First of all I would like to welcome Matt to the VBC, if you see him around the grounds introduce yourself.

Second, it was great to see Peter W back sailing after 18 months of hell.   (Hopefully his ankle stood up to the test.)

What a day yesterday, we had a wonderful days racing.

Winds from the north blowing a steady 15 knots with gusts well over 20 knots provided a great racing platform.

The course was able to be set along the longest length of our grounds.

We had about 160m between the top and bottom mark, it would take 3-4 tacks to go upwind, and a few jibes back.   This made for a lot of opportunities for overtaking.

We had 8 karts on the track at one time yesterday,  I had lost count of how many races we got in but it was over 15.

We did a 2 min dial up and then 3 laps – 3 laps were taking about 4.5 min to complete.

The downwind leg gave some great speeds and the bottom mark got very exciting with lots of slides and counter steering.

Don’t forget we have the Wang crew coming down next Sunday.   I will be sending out more information later in the week.
